The hotel is right in the centre of Hamburg, in a prime position covering a whole square.

The rooms are large and elegant, decorated mainly in beiges and light browns and all the beds have orthopaedic mattresses. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in exceptional condition, in keeping with the deluxe standard of this hotel. The hotel has various restaurants including the Italian pizzeria of the lobby and a very high class gourmet restaurant.

The hotel has been built in the shape of a buffalo and is a modern white building. The lobby is very large and elegant and usually very busy as it is a popular meeting place for the local people. It has a large seating area with brown leather seats on the one side and an Italian pizza/pasta restaurant on the other side of the lobby with seating in front of it, like a pavement cafe. In the centre of the lobby there are television screens with international channels.

This is one of the most famous hotels in Hamburg - an institution - and in a superb and prime location.
